Wajeeha  Ahmad

Welcome! I am an Assistant Professor in the Management division at Columbia Business School and a Digital Fellow at the Stanford Digital Economy Lab. 

My research is broadly focused on the impact of AI and digital technologies on businesses and society. I examine how firms, platforms and organizations can adopt and govern the use of digital technologies to remain competitive while improving societal outcomes.  My work has received the Best Proposal Award for Creativity in Research by the SMS Competitive Strategy Interest Group and the IEEE Computer Society Best Paper Award. My dissertation was selected as the runner-up for the INFORMS Organization Science Dissertation Proposal Competition (2025). 

I received my PhD in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University, where I was affiliated with the Stanford Digital Economy Lab, the Stanford Center for AI Safety, and the Stanford Technology Ventures Program. I received my Masters of Science in Technology and Policy from MIT, where I was a researcher at the MIT Computer Science and AI Lab and the Institute for Data, Systems and Society. I completed my undergraduate degree in Mathematics with Computer Science from MIT, with minors in Economics and Applied International Studies.  I've also spent time at Microsoft, Google X, Keystone Strategy, the International Criminal Court and the World Bank.
