My research is broadly focused on the impact of AI and digital technologies on businesses and society. My dissertation examines how firms, platforms and organizations can adopt and govern the use of digital technologies to remain competitive while improving societal outcomes. In my work, I seek to both:
Examine the impact of existing algorithmic systems to understand contexts in which potential trade-offs exist between firm performance and societal welfare, and
Design and test new interventions that firms can adopt to both improve their performance and address societal concerns.
To do so, I conduct large-scale field and survey experiments, develop AI agents to collect field data at scale, build new interfaces to study human-AI interaction in field settings, and partner with organizations and entrepreneurs interested in doing the same.
